Virtual storage - Dropbox

 
I am sure it has happened to you some times. You start an assignment (a file of any type: document, image, ...) at home. You will have to edit and modify this file the next morning at the school's PCs or in the library. When you finish at home, you have different options: sending an e-mail to yourself (so that you can recover it and continue working). But if you finish late or you are in a hurry you will save it in a USB stick (pendrive) that you might also forget; it is difficult to know which is the last version of the file: at home, in the USB stick, in the e-mail, at the library's PC, ..... Ufff!!
To solve this problem, and also to help us to share files and some other utilities, we can use Dropbox.

 
Dropbox is a system to easily synchronise files between computers, when you use more than one PC to work. At the same time, you can share files with other users. You start with 2GB of space.
Dropbox is installed at your computer. It creates the folder "My Dropbox" in "My Documents" ("Mis Documentos"). From this moment, everything you save in "My Dropbox" folder will be available automatically in the other PCs where you have installed Dropbox.

Dropbox also keeps an on-line version of those documents. It means that you can access them from any computer, even if it is not your computer, entering the website www.dropbox.com.


ACTIVITY:
Create an account in this system. With this, you will be able to save, synchronise and share files. Do not install the tool in the PC in class. You have to install Dropbox in your computer at home. It will help you with the edition and access to your files. Enter www.dropbox.com/register and you will find the following window. Write the information required:

You will use this tool during the course. You will be able to keep a copy of your assignments, and you will also upload them to the shared folder that the teacher will create with your name.

Emmagatzematge virtual - Dropbox

Segur que t'ha passat alguna vegada. Comences un treball (arxiu de qualsevol tipus: document, imatge,...) en l'ordinador de casa, que demà hauràs de continuar retocant en l'ordinador de l'escola o de la biblio. Quan acabes la sessió en l'ordinador de casa, fins ara tenies diverses opcions: enviar-t'ho per correu a tu mateix per, l'endemà poder-ho recuperar i seguir treballant, però si acabes molt tarde o vas amb presses se t'oblida enviar-t'ho; ho guardes en un pendrive, però també se't podria oblidar; ja no saps ni on està l'última versió, a casa, en el pen, en el correu, en l'ordinador de la biblio,......Uf!!!!
Per a resoldre aquest problema, i també per a ajudar-nos a compartir arxius i algunes utilitats més, està Dropbox.



Dropbox és un sistema per a poder sincronitzar fàcilment arxius entre ordinadors, quan en gastes més d’un per a treballar. Alhora, permet compartir fitxers amb altres usuaris. Tot això, començant amb 2 GB d’espai per a emmagatzemar.
Dropbox s’instal·la en el teu ordinador, i crea la carpeta “My Dropbox” dins de “Mis Documentos”. A partir d’eixe moment, tot lo que copies dins d’eixa carpeta automàticament estarà disponible en tots els ordinadors on tingues instal·lat Dropbox.
Dropbox guarda també una versió “on line” dels teus documents, de manera que pots accedir a ells des de qualsevol ordinador, encara que no siga el teu, entrant en l’adreça www.dropbox.com.

ACTIVITAT:
Aneu a crear-se un compte en aquest sistema gratuït per a emmagatzemar, sincronitzar i compartir fixers, però no heu de instal·lar-se l'eina a l'ordinador de classe, si no a l'ordinador de casa, doncs vos facilitarà molt l'edició i accés als vostres fitxers. Entrem a www.dropbox.com/register i vos apareix aquesta pantalla, en la que empleneu les dades i feu una ullada a l'eina:

Fareu ús d'aquesta eina al llarg del curs, per tal de tenir còpia de seguretat dels vostres treballs a més de pujar-los a una carpeta compartida que portarà el vostre nom i que haurà creat la profe per a tal fi.

Information society and new technologies

Many changes have taken place in society since the new technologies of information and communication (ICT) arrived. These are the objectives of the assignment you are going to do:
1. To know the impact of ICT in society and in the own knowledge area
2. To assess the role that these technologies have in the productive, industrial and scientific processes, also taking into account its economic, social and ethic repercussions.
In case there are some words you don't understand, below you will find a glossary with the key words of the assignment

Important: The assignment will be done in class hours. Your work will be checked every week. If you remember, one of the assessment criteria is to regularly work in class hours. This monitoring process will also help us to solve any doubts you might have.

La societat de la informació i les noves tecnologies

Són molts els canvis que s'han produït en la societat des de l'arribada de les noves tecnologies de la informació i la comunicació (NTIC o TIC). Els objectius del treball que aneu a realitzar són:  d'una banda, conèixer la incidència de les TIC en la societat i en el propi àmbit del coneixement; i per una altra, valorar el paper que aquestes tecnologies ocupen en els processos productius, industrials i científics amb les seues repercussions econòmiques, socials i ètiques.



El curtmetratge de Eliezer Castillo, guanyador del Premis Hermes 2006 a la millor animació , al que fa referència la pregunta 4 del treball és el que es mostra a continuació:

  

Important: El treball es realitzarà en hores de classe i totes les setmanes es farà un seguiment del mateix, ja que si vos fixeu be un dels criteris de correcció és precisament el treball regular en classe durant les sessions de la seua realització, i a més ens servirà per a anar aclarint els possibles dubtes que aneu trobant pel camí.
